The AWSC, Area World Service Conference, is Saturday, August 14th in St. Louis, Michigan. This is where the District Reps (Cindi M is ours) vote on issues to be sent to the State Assembly. It is interesting to see the business side of Al-Anon and how it all works! A few of us here locally usually car pool down, so let us know if you'd like to spend the better part of a day down in St. Louis seeing and hearing the service side of Al-Anon in Action!

The District meeting is August 28th at Burkholder Construction on Cass Road between Airport and Keystone, beginning at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments and fellowship.  The actual business part of the meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m., and we should be done before noon.

Cindi, our District Rep, will be bringing back info from the AWSC meeting that she attended last weekend in St. Louis, MI.  And I believe a new answering machine for our Area Information Service will also be a topic of discussion.

Also, Marti and Palma, who sponsor the Alateen Meeting at the Presbyterian Church on Thursday nights at 6:00 p.m., are asking for a couple of committed people to start an Al-Anon Meeting at the same time and location. It would be so convenient to have Al-Anon and Alateen at the same place, for rides, supervision and etc! Please let one of us know if you can help.
